May Day or Law Day?

A little known fact, on May 1st of each year, the United States officially recognizes Law Day. According to Wikipedia, “It is meant to reflect on the role of law in the foundation of the country and to recognize its importance for society. Implemented as a Cold War stunt to combat communism, as the rest of the world recognizes May Day as International Workers’ Day, Law Day is not commonly recognized by the American public.” According to LawDay.org, “President Dwight Eisenhower established the first Law Day in 1958 to mark the nation’s commitment to the rule of law.” At HR Strategies, we follow employment laws very closely.
